Long exposure

For the last several months, we have been working on a project referred to as "local heroes," whereby all subjects live, work, visit (or are just passing through) the town of Villa Park IL. We hope to have a gallery showing someday including a few of these works. Enjoy!

Long exposure photographs

"Shake it out"
After purchasing our coffee and venturing outside of McDonald's to try a few more long exposure shots, in my view (but a distance away) was a staff member tidying up the parking lot, but then he moved toward my direction. When he picked up the mat to shake it out, I could hardly believe my luck that my camera was already in position on its "tripod," ready to hit the shutter. Taken with a fixed lens wide angle camera at f/22, iso/100, on a dark and rainy morning.

Not on this shot, but a couple before it, someone did walk right through the picture, but the exposure was so slow (or maybe because he was walking so briskly), he disappeared on the image. Photography is an ever-learning experience.

After shaking out the mat (see first photo), the staff member set the mat aside and swept underneath.

If one's tripod is a curb, the vantage point becomes quite low. This long exposure, as all others on this post, was taken at f/22 iso/100.
